The Fifth China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference

The fifth China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference was convened in Manila, Philippines from November 11 to 13, 2008. The conference was chaired by former Chief State Prosecutor of the Philippines Mr. Jovencito R. Zuno. The theme of the conference was "effective cooperation in combating transnational crimes". Cao Jianming, prosecutor-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, and prosecutors-general, attorneys-general and deputy prosecutors-general, and deputy attorneys-general courtesy from ASEAN member states, as well as representatives from China's Hong Kong and Macao SARs attended the conference.

During the conference, participants signed the Joint Declaration of the Fifth China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening law enforcement cooperation in the fight against transnational crimes.
