The Eighth China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference

The 8th China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference was convened in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from January 22 to 23, 2014. Under the theme of "Crime, Corruption and Investment", participating delegations reaffirmed the importance of enhancing the effectiveness of the criminal justice system and took note of the prosecutors' role to promote and support a stable environment for the development of business opportunities within China and the ASEAN member states.

Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, then attorney-general of Malaysia, chaired the conference. Zhu Xiaoqing, then prosecutor-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, along with prosecutors-general, deputy prosecutors-general, attorneys-general, and deputy attorneys-general from ASEAN member states, as well as representatives from Hong Kong and Macao SARs, attended the conference.
