Amplifying Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" C. Remulla's commitment to delivering "Real Justice for All," the Department of Justice (DOJ) unfolded another leg of delivering essential government services, this time for the people of Bataan.
In coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Bureau of Immigration (BI), Land Registration Authority (LRA), Public Attorney's Office (PAO), Offices of the City and Provincial Prosecutor in Bataan (OCP and OPP Bataan), the DOJ Action Center (DOJAC) successfully spearheaded the public service event at the Bataan People's Center in Balanga City on June 26, 2025, benefiting over 100 local constituents.
The Katarungan Caravan is the flagship "one-stop legal aid outreach program" of the DOJ focused on providing the public with free legal services such as, but not limited to, drafting of legal documents, creation of government referrals and rendering of legal advice.
Aside from the legal services from DOJAC and PAO, the Katarungan Caravan is also complemented with other essential public services such as the processing of NBI clearances, LRA free counseling on land registration concerns, and free key immigration-related services from the BI.
Moreover, this event became an avenue to utilize the Justice in Action Lecture Series which is a legal education program intended to legally equip the people and empower them to become partners in the pursuit of justice.
DOJAC Program Director Asst. State Prosecutor (ASP) Joan Carla Guevarra and Katarungan Officer Atty. Augusto B. Cubias III conducted lectures on Safe Spaces Act and Katarungan Pambarangay Law, respectively.
Bataan Board Member Romano "Popoy" L. Del Rosario expressed his gratitude to the Department for the one-stop legal aid outreach program and the Justice in Action Lecture Series, as well.
DOJAC Undersecretary-in-Charge Margarita N. Gutierrez underscored the Department's commitment to bringing justice closer and equally accessible to the Filipino people regardless of race, status or creed.
Meanwhile, Sec Remulla stressed, "This is a demonstration of the DOJ's strong resolve under the Bagong Pilipinas brand of leadership that no one shall be left behind in our path to progress, allow us to bring our most humble and compassionate quality of public service right at the doorstep of every Filipino home."
