Phnom Penh -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn received here on Monday a courtesy call from H.E. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam.
During the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn welcomed the visit and expressed satisfaction with the continued growth of bilateral relations and cooperation across various sectors. He also congratulated the Government of Viet Nam on the successful conduct of its general election on Mar. 15, 2026.
The Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of maintaining frequent high-level exchanges to further strengthen ties, citing the recent state visit of H.E. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, to Cambodia in February as a key milestone.
For his part, H.E. Nguyen Manh Cuong reaffirmed Viet Nam’s commitment to working closely with Cambodia to organise activities marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.
Both sides noted positive progress in cooperation in key areas, including defence and security, trade and investment, connectivity, people-to-people exchanges, and human resource development, and pledged to further expand collaboration for mutual benefit.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn also briefed the Vietnamese side on recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
