Ying Yong meets with Chief Justice of Vietnam's Supreme People's Court　

Ying Yong, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, meets with a delegation led by Nguyen Van Quang, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, in Beijing on Aug 25.

Ying Yong, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) of China, met with a delegation led by Nguyen Van Quang, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, in Beijing on Aug 25.

Ying extended a warm welcome to Quang and his delegation. He said that China and Vietnam are traditional friendly neighbors and that bilateral relations have maintained sound momentum, with pragmatic cooperation continuously deepening across multiple fields under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of both parties and countries.

Ying noted that in April this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, held talks with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, who was paying a state visit to China. The two sides issued a joint statement on continuously deepening the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and advancing the building of a higher level of China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance in the new era, which has provided strategic guidance for the development of relations between the two parties and the two countries, he added.

He noted that as bilateral ties continue to deepen, law enforcement and judicial cooperation between the two countries has made steady progress and yielded tangible results.

Ying briefed the delegation on China's rule of law development and procuratorial work, emphasizing that comprehensively advancing law-based governance is a fundamental strategy of the CPC in governing the country and a principle enshrined in China's Constitution.

He pointed out that China's procuratorial organs serve as the country's legal supervision bodies and judicial organs responsible for ensuring the unified and correct implementation of national laws. Under the leadership of the CPC, China's procuratorial organs are fully performing their statutory duties, continuously advancing the practice of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law in the procuratorial work, and supporting Chinese modernization through high-quality procuratorial work.

Noting that China and Vietnam are both socialist countries led by communist parties and share many similarities in their judicial systems, Ying said China's SPP is ready to work with Vietnam’s Supreme People's Procuracy and Supreme People's Court to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and the two countries as well as the joint statement issued by the two governments, deepen exchanges and mutual learning, and enhance pragmatic cooperation in combating transnational, economic and drug-related crimes and in  judicial personnel exchange and training, so as to bring greater benefits to both countries and their peoples.

For his part, Quang thanked Ying for the warm reception and expressed admiration for China's achievements in modernization and rule of law development. He noted that Vietnam-China relations have entered a second "highlight moment" with pragmatic and in-depth cooperation expanding across various fields.

He added that Vietnam is ready to draw on China's advanced experience in rule of law development and judicial reform, and to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China’s Supreme People's Court (SPC) and SPP in areas including information-based development, public interest protection, judicial assistance, and crackdown on transnational crimes, so as to jointly improve the quality and efficiency of judicial work in both countries, and better serve their respective national development.

Tong Jianming, First Deputy Prosecutor General of the SPP of China; Li Yong, Vice-President of the SPC of China; Pham Thanh Binh, Vietnamese Ambassador to China; and Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, attended the meeting.
