The Yunnan Branch of the National Prosecutors College of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Yunnan Branch") is a public institution directly under the People's Procuratorate of Yunnan Province. Under the guidance of the National Prosecutors College, it serves as a key training base for cultivating high-level, high-quality procuratorial talent in Yunnan and undertakes training tasks assigned by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the National Prosecutors College, and provincial procuratorial organs.
I. Solid Foundation and Superior Environment
Located in the Dianchi Lake Tourist Resort of Kunming, the branch enjoys both natural beauty and convenient transportation. Officially opened in October 2016 and comprehensively upgraded in October 2024, the branch now covers an area of 24.94 mu (about 1.66 hectares) with a total floor space of 46,800 square meters.
The branch comprises two buildings. Building A integrates teaching, conferences, dining, reading, and office functions, with 18 multifunctional classrooms and conference rooms (including a 300-person multifunctional hall, a 200-person classroom, and five 60-80-person classrooms), two dining halls (seating 280 in total), and a library with over 20,000 books and 80 types of periodicals. Building B serves as the dormitory area, offering 296 rooms with 484 beds. In September 2024, the branch added a book bar, creating a high-quality space for reading and relaxation.
The branch has also set up more than 20 field teaching sites, including the Southwest Associated University Museum at Yunnan Normal University, the Yunnan Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan Memorial Hall, the Yunnan Army Lecture Hall History Museum, and the "Digital Yunnan" Exhibition Center, providing rich resources for practical teaching.
II. Distinctive Training System
Adhering to the goal of "building self-confidence, fostering distinctiveness, and striving for excellence," the Yunnan Branch has steadily improved its training system and course development.
In 2024, it launched its first permanent training program, with three core modules: theoretical and Party spirit education, procuratorial performance capabilities, and administrative comprehensiveness. A total of 17 sessions (15 classes) have already been organized.
In March 2024, the branch was approved by the National Prosecutors College to establish two specialized teaching demonstration bases: one for Drug Crime Procuratorial Work and the other for Prosecutorial Training and Exchange with South and Southeast Asia. Based on this, a modular course library has been developed, now totaling over 400 courses.
Specialized courses such as Cross-Border Crime Governance and Drug Crime Procuratorial Work have been developed in collaboration with local procuratorial organs.
The Branch also actively promotes branded academic activities. In September 2024, it hosted the Third China–Vietnam Border Procuratorates Meeting, signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Southwest University of Political Science and Law.
III. Innovative Platforms
The branch has established new platforms for integrating procuratorial theory and practice. In August 2024, it launched the First Dianchi Criminal Law Forum and published the inaugural issue of Yunjian Communications, providing a platform for dialogue on prosecutorial reform, innovation, and talent cultivation. In August 2025, the Second Dianchi Criminal Law Forum brought together over 260 experts and practitioners to discuss "Criminal Governance of Bribery Crimes", further strengthening its role as a hub for academic exchange.
IV. Building a Teaching Faculty
The branch places great emphasis on building a high-quality teaching faculty with an optimized structure. Currently, the branch has 94 lecturers. To continuously expand its pool of high-quality teaching resources, the branch will actively promote cooperation with prestigious institutions such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and Law, and Southwest University of Political Science and Law, bringing in distinguished experts as adjunct professors.
