I. General Information
Originated as the Jiangsu Prosecutors Training Center in 1991, the institution was officially designated as the Jiangsu Branch of the National Prosecutors College in 2009 with the approval of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China. The campus was put into use in April 2014. It spans 420 mu (about 28 hectares), with a total floor area of 32,000 square meters.
Over the past three years, the branch has hosted an average of 110 training programs, conferences, and competitions annually, accommodating approximately 11,000 participants each year. It has been designated as a National Specialized Training Base for Procuratorial Organs (Criminal Prosecution), a National Demonstration Base for Procuratorial Teaching Practice, a Training Base for Deputies to the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, and the Judicial Police Training Base for procuratorial organs across the province.
The "Jiangsu Procuratorial History and Culture Education Base" managed by the branch was recognized as one of the tenth batch of provincial demonstration bases for legal culture development in Jiangsu. Its cultural brand, "Sujian Glorious Years," was selected as one of the top ten procuratorial cultural brands in the province.
II. Facilities and Environment
Nestled in a scenic area surrounded by mountains and water, the branch enjoys a serene and picturesque environment. It is equipped with comprehensive teaching and living facilities and can accommodate up to 380 trainees simultaneously, ensuring strong support for educational activities.
It also features cultural and educational landmarks such as the Taoli Reading Room, Rule of Law Cultural Park, Justice Square, and a waterfront boardwalk.
III. Training Features and Achievements
The branch takes criminal prosecution, public interest litigation prosecution, juvenile prosecution and duty crime prevention as its core training features, and integrates theoretical teaching, case study, simulation training and other teaching methods to build a training system covering all procuratorial functions.
(A) Integration of Political and Professional Training
The branch took the lead in formulating the Opinions on Strengthening the Integration of Political and Professional Training in all branches. The related research findings were published in The Chinese Prosecutors journal and transformed into courses.
(B) Solid Foundation in Training Resources
The branch has 116 visiting professors, guest lecturers, and procuratorial instructors, along with 10 young procuratorial teachers. Nearly 1,000 courses have been developed. The branch has also established 20 on-site teaching and practice bases for prosecutors' education and training across Jiangsu province, and has been designated as the continuing education base of Hohai University and the legal education practice base of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, creating a new model of cooperation between the procuratorate and higher education institutions for collaborative education and talent cultivation.
(C) Extensive Experience in Hosting Training, Competitions, and Conferences
Since 2023, it has organized 21 training sessions for 2,023 participants entrusted by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the National Prosecutors College and the procuratorial organs in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Guizhou and Guangdong provinces. In addition, it has also hosted many national procuratorial skills competitions and large-scale conferences.
(D) Capacity for Independent Training and Management
Over the past three years, the Jiangsu branch has independently held eight specialized training programs focusing on key and challenging issues in procuratorial work. It has established a comprehensive training management system covering the entire process, from training demand survey, teaching plan formulation, training organization management and training evaluation, which has achieved effective outcomes.
(E) Progress in Building a Research-Oriented College
Since 2023, three projects undertaken by the branch have been approved by relevant authorities, three papers have been published in The Chinese Prosecutors, People's Procuratorate and Journal of Jiangsu Police Officer College, one paper won the second prize in the National Theoretical Research Awards on Juvenile Prosecution, and another received the first prize at the Jiangsu Law Society's Annual Conference on Criminal Procedure Law.
(F) Active Exchanges and Cooperation
The branch has extensively carried out regional joint training, hosted many inter-provincial training courses, and participated in cross-regional cooperation seminars on procuratorial education. It also maintains close cooperation with Zhejiang, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Henan, Shandong, and Greater Bay Area branches of the National Prosecutors College, as well as with the Jiangsu Provincial Party School and the Jiangsu Judges Training College.
