The Shanxi Branch of the National Prosecutors College of China is a public welfare institution under the Shanxi Provincial People's Procuratorate. It serves as the main platform for prosecutorial education and training in Shanxi Province. The branch currently has 11 staff members, including 3 with master's degrees. It consists of three internal departments: the Teaching and Research Department, the Training Department, and the General Affairs Department.
In December 2015, a new campus opened in Yuci district's University town, Jinzhong city. Just a 30-minute drive from Taiyuan Airport and the high-speed railway station, the campus spans 8.5 hectares and features 148 guest rooms with 241 beds (including 12 suites, 93 standard rooms, and 43 single rooms). The campus also includes a large classroom that can accommodate 300 people, three 80-seat small classrooms, a 60-seat electronic classroom, meeting rooms, a VIP reception area, a mock courtroom, a reading room, and an indoor fitness center. The dining hall accommodates over 200 people, while outdoor facilities include a 200-meter track, a football field, and courts for basketball, badminton, and tennis.
The branch's main responsibilities include hosting various training programs assigned by the National Prosecutors College; providing leadership training for chief prosecutors and leadership team members at the municipal and county levels across the province; offering specialized training in political theory and prosecutorial practice for cadres at all levels; and cultivating young prosecutorial talents and professionals. It also undertakes external training programs as part of its public service role. The branch has appointed three batches of 65 prosecutorial instructors from the provincial prosecutorial system and over 150 professors and associate professors from higher education institutions and government agencies as part-time lecturers.
The branch strives to promote the standardization, specialization, and professionalization of prosecutorial education and training, providing strong talent support and intellectual resources for the high-quality development of the prosecutorial cause in the new era.
The branch also strengthens political training by inviting national and provincial business experts and professors to provide advanced instruction, while consistently providing theoretical and Party spirit education. It also emphasizes practical training, focusing on judicial concepts, prosecutorial policies, and hands-on practice. Drawing on representative cases, the branch has developed a model of public interest litigation training with Shanxi characteristics, helping trainees and broader audiences better understand the system's original intent, prosecutorial functions, and its role in advancing social governance with Chinese characteristics.
